Having recently moved here from a big city area that had an AMAZING food scene, we've had to temper our expectations of many restaurants as being "Redding Good" vs what we were used to back in our former home. This is the first place that just legitimately blew us away. The staff was excellent. The ambiance was perfect. The food... My goodness... The FOOD!
By far, the best we've had in Redding, and would easily compete with the best restaurants across the country. It's that good.
If you're looking for a date night, you'd be doing yourself a disservice by not coming here.

We had a party of over 8 people and the food came out at the same time as well as piping hot! The owner is kind and the service is on point. Nicest restaurant in town!

This is a very nice and classy little cafe tucked into downtown Redding. The lunch menu was very interesting and I had a hard time choosing just one item. I went with the Shrimp BTL ($13) and a small bowl of clam chowder as my side dish ($3 upcharge). They have a nice wine and beer menu and I ordered a local microbrewed IPA ($7). Everything was well prepared and was very tasty although the shrimp could have used more flavor (maybe sauteed with butter and garlic). With tip my lunch tab was right at $30 and I was pleased to pay it.
My only complaint was the service. My waitress was apparently in a bad mood or just didn't take a liking to me. I posted details here and the management reached out to me and apologized to me. He offered to make it right on my next visit and he did.
I went back again with a friend and had a wonderful visit. She started with with the watermelon salad which was delicious and unique. I had the grilled Caesar salad which I enjoyed. We had the Zen Bowl and the Chicken Dijon. Both dishes showed creativity and culinary skill. This is a restaurant that delivers in the food category even though I had a bad experience with the service once. I am convinced that it was anomaly and that the excellent sevice that I received on my secon visit is their norm. I will be going back.

The owners and staff were amazing, and so was the food. The tiramisu cheesecake was awesome, and so was the wild boar pasta. Highly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a fine dining experience.

Short story: To. Die. For.
Long story: We started with side salads (larger than most) with plenty of greens, tomatoes, croutons, and two different homemade dressings. The Mosely Family Cellars Syrah was "jammy" and paired well with both mouth watering main dishes. Locally grown Fuyu persimmons added color and complemented the Lemon Thyme Rissoto and fork tender Braised Beef Cheek I'd ordered. My daughter ordered the Duck Breast, which was perfectly cooked and served over smashed Yukon potatoes, spiraled root veggies encircled by spiced maple syrup and pecans. After finishing off our main dishes, we opted to split a crème brûlée (creamier and not too sweet than others we've eaten). Chef Michael has many GF options, and accommodated my low oxalate dietary request to replace any spinach in my salad with any other lettuce.
Amber's hospitality and wait service was also excellent. This husband and wife team can expect to see us back again!
